In the year 1441 AH/2019 AD, the General Authority of Civil Aviation began implementing the new Al-Jouf International Airport project. With a total area estimated at 411,950 square metres, the passenger lounge area is 23,268 square metres, with a capacity of up to one million passengers annually, which is estimated at approximately 6 times the capacity of the current airport which is estimated at approximately 175,000 passengers. annually.

Facility and Features:

• 13 check-in counters synchronized with 3 self-service platforms.
• 7 travel gates and 4 bridges capacity directly connected to the travel hall.
• Accommodating 2 international flights and 5 domestic flights at one time.
• It accommodates 6 simultaneous Class (C) aircraft, and two Class (C) aircraft compatible with two Class (E) aircraft.

It also includes service and investment buildings, parking lots, and an electricity and air conditioning station. Care has been taken to equip the airport with the latest safety and operating systems to ensure the highest levels of comfort and security for travelers, and to provide all the necessary infrastructure facilities to provide passenger services with the highest quality standards.

News about the expansion of Al-Jawf Airport

The Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser, confirmed that the essence of the Kingdom’s national transport strategy is based on transforming it into a global logistics center that takes advantage of its strategic geographical location and its intermediary between the three continents of the world.

The minister revealed that the ministry is working to expand Al-Baha, Jazan, and Al-Jawf airports with the aim of increasing the number of flights and passengers. He pointed out on the sidelines of the Future of Aviation Forum in Riyadh that the expansion of the three airports comes after the announcement of raising the capacity of Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Medina.

This came during a dialogue session entitled “Growth of air connectivity and investment between the present and the future.”
